A Customers recent service uncovered something far more serious, the rear spring hangers on this ford kia were badly corroded, posing an immediate danger to the occupants and other road users. If this wasn't bad enough "chemical filler" was applied as a repair to the spring carriers...
Customer was advised a new rear axle was needed to make the vehicle safe.
As can be seen from these photos, the tyres on this customers vehicle were an accident waitng to happen, noticed when the vehicle was presented for it's MOT..
Structural integrity was the reason for this vehicle failing it's MOT.One of our technicians repaired the area with a mig welded steel plate, welded to MOT standards,a new 12 month mot was then issued..
We had a ford fiesta ecoboost in with us recently, the oil light was staying on with poor performance. For our customers that are not aware these vehicles suffer badly with wet belt degradation. The rubber teeth come off the belt then go on to clog the oil strainer,in the worse case scenario this starves the engine of oil resulting in engine failure.
Fortunately this customer stopped driving the vehicle as soon as the oil light came on.A new wet belt and oil pump kit was ordered and fitted to the vehicle.
